Is it worth applying to job ads that have been up for several days? I see some jobs posted for up to a month - does that mean they haven't had enough suitable applications or do they just leave a job up for a set amount of time? I don't want to apply if there's no chance my resume will be seen. Obviously the best time to apply is straight away, but is it still worth applying to a week old job posting in your experience?

Everyone's talking about how terrible the job market is, I just want to know if anyone has any theories as to when it might get better? I've almost given up looking for a full time job and now just scour part time and casual listings until the job market improves - question is, when will it? (will it ever?) Any experts here that can weigh in?

What are your thoughts about HR in a corporate world? I feel Human Resources are more centered and favourable to the employer not employees. I understand it depends upon case to case but in my experience employees become a scapegoat when it comes to management and someone needs to be blamed. Even I feel what is happening with the employee can be seen by HR very clearly but in most of the cases, outcome is mostly in favour of the managers.Apologies for being upfront. Thoughts please?

I hav been actively searching for finance and banking opportunities in New Zealand for the past 4 months.I hav 4 yrs of experience in payments, accounts payable, and AML/KYC from India. Since arriving, I’ve been applying through job portals, reaching out to recruiters on LinkedIn, building connections, and also exploring opportunities in person, while continuing to upskill.As I’m looking for my 1st opportunity in Nz would really appreciate any advice . tks

Hello people I've just finished highschool last year and wanted to start working and joining the workforce. I've been applying for jobs for over 6 months now. I've applied for over 150 jobs and no luck. There are over 200 people applying for one job. I feel a bit discouraged so if anyone can help a brother out it would be appreciated. im looking for work in the Retail sector like a grocery store, cloths shop, supermarkets, or stores like farmers.

I'm resilient, constant, with a awesome personality, also 60yrs young, applied for a job Monday night, got a call on Tuesday 9.30am, had a interview over ph, new to me, went in did a drug and alcohol test, crime history, signed my contract, full time mahi, yaay....this is after quite a few applications goes to show, never too old

I have had a year off work after having my son. I thought that I would want to go back to work full time once he was a year old but I have now decided that I want to stay with him a bit longer. I'm hoping to find a work from home part time/casual job so that I can stay with my son while still bringing in at least some income. I'm not sure what type of job I should be looking for or what would be suitable. Any advice would be greatly appreciated:)
