Been in hospitality management in Queenstown for 6 years. Recruiters have told me my skills are transferable into corporate ops or project management but I haven't been successful in pivoting. Has anyone made this jump in NZ and what did it actually take?

I’ve noticed that the easiest way I’ve been able to find work is to state your experiences on Facebook Noticeboards. State that you are looking for work in which ever area you’re in and be open to jobs outside of your comfort zone. Just advice that’s helped me. 😊 Don’t sell yourself short! Promote yourself!

I’m 28 and work in workplace health and safety but I’ve totally hit a wall. I feel stuck and honestly have no clue what I want to do next. SO I have been looking at career coaches (Auckland), but they are waaay too expensive from what I’ve found (around $800 a session!!)

I feel trapped in a low-paid service job with exhausting early starts and barely enough hours to survive. I tried studying to break out of it, now I can’t even afford to complete the course. It honestly feels like you need money to stop being broke… and I’m running out of energy trying. If anyone’s been through this and found a way out, I could really use some advice. What should I actually be doing next?

I left my job end of 2024 due to health reasons. Spent 6 months sorting it out and since been looking for a job. I'm in my early twenties. Yes the market is tough and I've applied for a number of jobs but now it's been suggested to me to do trial work for free to "earn trust". Is that reasonable? Does not having a job for over a year make me less reliable or trustworthy?

Hi, plz correct me if I’m wrong but I have been at my job for 4yrs. My trainer was there for 2 yrs and already on $27 an hr. He left the year I started, I’m on less than $27 & everyone at my job earns $30+ .. we didn’t get a pay rise last year to my knowledge. I ask my manager and he brings up stuff when I was in the hospital as if I was faking being sick? But I had medical certificates from the hospital.. should I just start looking for another job cuz it doesn’t really seem honest really? Thx

Job hunting right now feels like a full-time job itself ❗️I’m well-qualified in marketing but haven’t landed a single interview after 50+ applications. 🫠 I’ve reworked my CV multiple times, yet all I get are rejections or nothing at all! Just venting a bit today..... but I’ll keep going. 😔 Any tips or advice would be great!
