I am 30 and at the end of last year I got made redundant working in local government. Have design and photography skills and I've just felt so defeated since being basically pushed out of a job and not sure what to do or even what next step to take. I'm a musician on the side per say and love that and it keeps me going.

Communication with recruiters!! I'm back hunting for a job after a few years and I'm seeing a big n negative shift in how recruiters respond or communicate!! In the past, it was good to give them a call and most of the time they welcomed it. Now they hardly answer or get back to you! In the past, if you wanted to discuss different options, or a career shift, they wouldn't mind meeting up and having a chat about it, regardless if they have a current role for you or not. Now they just ignore that!

I have a family of 5 kids and my husband and I. husband works as a 2 IC and I returned to work force after 14 years of being a stay at home mum. I work for a Australian/ New Zealand company retail customer service. my role is a Supervisor but they have favoritism at work. When I initially came for the job interview there were promises made but none of it was followed through but given to the next person who started 6 months after I did.

I’m 27, I have criminal convictions that are stuck with me for life from when I was 21, and I am a solo dad to a 3 year old boy. Finding a job is extremely difficult for me, I’m losing hope. Even labourer and landscaping positions are asking for MOJ checks. And then I have to find hours that are suitable to care for my son which I have 50/50 custody of. I’ve been clean from drugs for 5 years and I very rarely drink now, but my past actions are holding me back. What would you do? What can I do?

Hello Everyone I’ve worked 2+ years in cybersecurity, mainly in SOC, threat hunting, and IR, using tools like Sentinel, Defender XDR, and Carbon Black. I hold SC-200 and Practical Ethical Hacking certs. I found that the ICT Security Specialist role is on NZ’s Tier 1 Green List, which supports residency and sponsorship. I’d love to hear from anyone in NZ cybersecurity about job demand, visa sponsorship, and tips on landing a role from abroad. Any advice or leads would be greatly appreciated!

I'm in my early 50s and have experience as a facilitator, administrator, Office Manager/ Operations Manager to ......to where I am now. It's not my ideal job, there's no job satisfaction; it just pays the bills. I'd really like to move into something that would encompass all if not most of the skills and experience I've gained over the years. I guess the fear is being re-employed at my age.... any suggestions on what route to take?

I'm an illustrator in an all-rounder digital role doing social media, video editing, basic graphic design etc. and I'm not finding it fulfilling. I don't really enjoy "content creation" and want to move into a more serious design role at one of the bigger agencies but I don't know where to start. Aside from applying for jobs I like, is there anything else I can do to make the leap? Should I be mocking up concepts to put in my portfolio or even Award School? Any advice?

I'm 42yrs and with 24 consecutive years of leadership within FMGC and Contractor models, I've hit a brick wall in my career (well it feels like it). How it seems with relevant roles that I've applied for (<160 applications) I'm not suited however I have been offered truck driver roles *absolutely zero experience- only hold Class4*. What is it ? why?
