Hi all, I am a business student graduating next year who eventually wants to get to director level at a reasonably big or even global company. Question: is it worth applying to smaller companies when I graduate or should I just aim at the top companies from the start? I don't want to 'waste time' in an unserious job or somewhere that doesn't really add to my resume, but I'm not sure if I'm limiting myself too much only going for big companies. Any advice?

Suggest me some jobs that aren't a) being a tradie or b) sitting at a desk for 40 hours a week. I'm enrolled in a BA but I'm not sure what I want to do afterwards, I just know it's not a corporate job and it's not working construction. There's got to be some good options in between?

The best decision I made in my first job? Volunteering for the projects nobody wanted. That presentation to the executive team everyone avoided? I raised my hand. The client nobody wanted to handle? I stepped up. These "problem projects" taught me more in 6 months than standard work taught me in a year. Plus, leadership noticed. Two promotions later, I realize those uncomfortable assignments were actually career rocket fuel.

One tip I can share with someone just starting out: say yes to opportunities, even the small ones. You never know which one will lead to something bigger!
