Customer Service Role
90 day trial period. I got let go at the end of the 90 day trial period at the start of July. I was not told why and at the time I was in no state to ask. How do I go about explaining this in interviews. I feel like it is a dark cloud of my interviews as they all seem to think something negative happened, even though nothing did happen. Do I just take this period off my CV all together ?

Trial periods can end for reasons that aren't about your performance, we'd hope that most employers get this. If it's questioned, you can keep it simple with a "The role didn’t align with what they needed at the time" - You don’t need to go into detail. Keep it on your CV if it feels relevant, or you could choose to remove it, if you're not seeing the value in how it might help get your next role. ☺️

That sucks sorry Grace. Sometimes tough breaks like this are blessings in disguise. Hopefully something new and better is just around the corner.

The advice I've always heard is not to leave things out unless they're really unrelated. Not being the right fit for some workplace doesn't have to be a big deal. Just keep it simple, say you were there for 90 days before you left and there were no complaints or negative feedback.

That’s rough. I’ve seen it used against somebody at my old work. They employed two people in the same job, then got rid of the much more experienced one who would’ve cost them more money & kept the teenager in her first job. It was so obvious it was about money. I’m actually quite nervous about the 90-day trials being in effect, as a jobseeker. I wouldn’t leave it out. Honesty is always best. Just treat it like any work experience on your CV, list the tasks you did and any transferable skills.
