Is anyone actually finding jobs in New Zealand right now? I've been job hunting since February - NEARLY SIX MONTHS!! - I'm SO discouraged. I'm perfect for some of the jobs i'm applying for and there's just radio silence most of the time. I'm in project management - does anyone have any hot tips? It shouldn't be this hard!

Maybe move to Oz. There is plenty of work here. NZ is a broken country. Labour under Ardern started it, and National have been a joke. Look after you.

Yes, I've made over 250 applications since Jan 2025, all rejections or no responses so far. My son has been applying for jobs for over 2 years and hes had the same result, rejections and no responses. International work seems like a very worthwhile option right now..

Been there too!! 4 months now and i've applied over 60-70 applications. Same friend even said to me 'not nearly hundred?? those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump them up' im ded yknow 😵

Accountant
Hi guys,I have been applying for jobs,door knocking and cold calling for 2 years.I have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and have NZ PR I have worked as an accountant for 18 months in NZ.I have just finished my Level 3 in HCA and have a casual job but it is not for me.I am really looking for something in my accounting field.I have been working with recruitment agencies as well but still nothing changing.I am tired of this false hope to be positive like this is real life.

Support Worker
I was job hunting for 2 ears, yea that is what really disappointed me. I have the required qualifications, and I let them know that am willing to do any workshop to learn and improve, but No their generated responses are 'due to no prior experience you have not met the criteria' . Like seriously they expect youngsters to work but also want them to have experience lvl of 10+ years.
