I'm in my 30s and working in hospo for more than 10 years now - had a moment of "what am I doing with my life?" recently. I don't have any other work experience though I do manage a small team so I have that in my favour. I would like any type of office job! I'm not fussy - just normal hours and not dealing with customers.
What are some free or cheap online courses I can do in my spare time for getting started?

Honestly managing a team in hospo is huge. You’re already juggling people, problem solving, time management, and pressure, those are all things offices need too. Don’t sell yourself short. Plenty of people move from hospo into admin or coordinator roles with those transferable skills. 💪

whatever you do, dont leave your job to study or youll struggle to find another one (been there done that and miss my hospo job so much) open polytech has a bunch of free courses at level 2,3 and 4 in business administration, dont bother paying for one from MIT or Unitec when you can get it for free, a bunch of courses are free with open polytech actually! another peice of advice is... its not always greener on the otherside.. i was thinking like you and regret leaving my job so so much.
