What’s it like working at Savers?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees consistently praise their colleagues and co-workers as friendly and supportive, making them one of the best aspects of working at Savers. The staff discount is a valued benefit, and flexible working hours make it ideal for students. Employees also appreciate the variety of tasks and ability to rotate between areas.

However, there are some potential challenges, including management practices around communication and training, high staff turnover, and demanding workload expectations with challenging daily targets. Some employees have noted that pay rates could be more competitive, and the role involves physical demands with working conditions that could be improved.

    mental health battlefield
The good thingsIf your mental health, work-life balance, and being treated with respect aren't priorities for you, then by all means apply. The employee discount is great. Just don't expect the same level of investment from management that they're expecting from you.
The challengesOne of the worst-managed workplaces I have ever experienced. The leadership structure is completely backwards, with store management and head office appearing more interested in protecting each other than addressing serious workplace issues. Staff concerns are ignored, accountability is nonexistent, and experienced employees continue to leave because they are unsupported, undervalued, and treated as disposable. The high turnover speaks for itself.

Easy retail job that can work well if you're a student, but only if you're part time.
The good thingsStaff discount, your coworkers, ability to express yourself and positive customer interactions have made it worth it. It's a pretty easy job.
The challengesSevere under-staffing, extremely fast turnaround especially management, poor communication, WHS issues including wellbeing, etc.

Good team to work as a part timer, but not a good place to grow towards higher role.
The good thingsGood team. Everyone team member is cooperative.
The challengesManagement system is all messed up. So yes, it is good to work in a part timer role but if you step in full time role, you will feel regret and will leave soon. Definitely not for people looking for growth.
