Redpath frequently made promises that were later walked back or not honoured. NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY!
The good thingsSeltzer water on tap
The challengesMany commitments and assurances were made during recruitment and onboarding that were not followed through on in practice Significant disconnect between what is promised and the day-to-day reality of the role Advice and direction from health and safety leadership often appeared theoretical and disconnected from real-world operational or medical contexts Ongoing interpersonal and cultural issues created friction across teams, including with injured workers and operational staff Raising concerns frequently felt unsupported and became an ongoing source of stress rather than resolution There is also a strong need for leadership roles, particularly in health and advisory functions, to be grounded in practical, real-world experience and to actively engage with workers and stakeholders rather than operate in isolation. Addressing cultural issues early would significantly improve morale and reduce unnecessary conflict.

Get Your Hours Up & GoLarge mining contractor with many roles available. Pay was always on time and optional overtime was offered regularly. There is no up skilling available or career advancement. There is a toxic team culture and management does not address the issues. The pay is average for the environment and work provided. Did get to work with some good people (during & before they pulled the pin). I would use caution when recommend this company to friends on the proviso I knew what role they were interested in.

Exercise caution with Redpath! There is a pressing issue with the effectiveness of management/safety team. In practice, their performance often falls short, functioning more as a superficial front rather than a genuinely proactive force. A comprehensive, immediate retraining program across all sites—from management to frontline workers—is very much in need to fostering a stronger safety culture and addressing these shortcomings. If possible, explore opportunities with companies that demonstrate a genuine commitment to safety. Should you choose to join, it may be wise to gain experience and then transition to an organization that truly upholds its duty of care. Be wary of surface-level safety discussions—once you're underground, those principles are often disregarded. Attempting to maintain high safety standards can leave you at odds with the work culture, as the primary focus is overwhelmingly on hitting production targets rather than ensuring worker well-being.
The good thingsThe opportunity to work alongside skilled colleagues is a definite highlight. There are some great people that work within the company.
The challengesMany issues are overlooked, hazardous working conditions persist, with requests for improved PPE consistently ignored. The source of the problem lies in management, whose disregard for safety sets the tone and norm. It's only a matter of time before there's a casualty - that is the harsh reality
