What’s it like working at Evolution Mining?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees value their supportive and helpful colleagues, often describing teams as family-like. The company's commitment to safety, training opportunities, and flexible working arrangements including hybrid work are appreciated. Benefits such as employee share options and quarterly bonuses are also highlighted positively.

However, there are some potential challenges, including management practices that vary in quality and consistency across the organisation. Some employees have experienced cultural challenges around feedback practices and alignment with stated values. The workload can be demanding with multiple responsibilities, and communication between sites and head office could be improved. Additionally, systems and processes may not always meet operational needs, and salaries are reported as average to below market rate in some roles.

Career LOW light. If you're someone who wants to develop in their career - keep looking !
The good thingsSome good people (until they leave)
The challengesIf you are young, ambitious or genuinely career-driven, keep looking! Development is spoken about constantly but rarely reflected in the employee experience. There is a strong culture of gatekeeping, poor knowledge sharing and performative busyness, where people appear perpetually “flat out” yet basic tasks and decisions take an extraordinary amount of time because noone knows. Most concerning is the so-called “feedback culture”. What is presented as constructive feedback often feels like relentless criticism, scrutiny and psychological torment. Rather than building capability, it leaves people feeling constantly watched, picked apart and undermined, with poor behaviour easily justified as simply “giving feedback”. Psychological safety is spoken about but rarely practiced. Processes are unnecessarily complicated, accountability is lacking, and politics often appear to matter more than competence or outcomes. Learn from my mistake: don’t buy the “dream” they sell you at the beginning.

    Incredible until it wasn't
The good thingsHybrid work is encouraged
The challengesAgree with the poster below, IT team used to be incredible, full of knowledgeable people who had a genuine passion for their roles and the company. New GM has moved all of them on. There is not one leader or manager left since he started. New leadership from the GM down are all paper pushers moving as much work as they can out to third parties (overseas) while what's left of the internal staff wait for the knock on the door from HR. The new managers hired are almost replicas of the GM and have know technical knowledge nor do they care to understand how the sites work. Relationships between the group office and the sites just don't exist anymore, GM rarely if ever shows up to meetings, even ones that he has set himself. Its genuinely shocking to see how this has been allowed to happen the quality and output of work has dropped off a cliff.
