What’s it like working at Communify?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees value the meaningful work at Communify, supporting vulnerable community members, and appreciate the passionate and dedicated frontline staff. The work/life balance is good, with flexibility and perks, and some departments offer self-directed work for motivated individuals.

However, there are some potential challenges, including management and leadership practices that could be strengthened, an organisational structure that may need modernising to support growth, and training and support resources that could be enhanced. Additionally, some programmes may be under-resourced relative to community needs.

Promising role with good pay and conditions, ruined by bad or absent leadership and understaffing.
The good thingsSome great frontline staff who are passionate and dedicated. Good intentions with approaches to peer practice.
The challengesVery poor management and leadership. Poor organisational and operational skills, especially from lower-level management. Disappointing levels of support and resources, and role clarity is severely lacking. Dishonesty and a lack of transparency with team interactions and reporting. Leadership was not responsive to identified safety and role scope concerns. A significant difference in role expectations and requirements between the recruitment phase and eventual job role.

Please don't work here - the pay is enticing but not worth it
The good thingsGood pay, great team members, some career growth - cross sector
The challengesManagement at all levels could start to care about the impact they have on people's lives. Lives have been destroyed because of this organisation

You get out what you put in. Better than other community organizations, but not perfect.
The good thingsThe organization has good values and in my department, front-line workers are able to be pretty self-directed which is good if you are motivated as a person. I like the idea of there being no wrong door to access support for clients. My role is very focused on outcomes and has a supportive team including management. Great work-life balance and perks. Communify has a LOT of different departments though so others may be different.
The challengesThe organization is a victim of it's own success and needs to scale up departments like HR, finance, quality assureance to keep up with the growing workforce and funding. There is definitely a hangover from old policies that don't work in reality anymore. A bit old school.
