What’s it like working at BP?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees appreciate the friendly team environment at BP, with supportive colleagues who work well together. The role helps develop valuable customer service skills, including communication and problem-solving abilities. Staff value the flexible shifts and competitive pay and benefits, including bonuses, fuel discounts, and free coffee.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as training that could be more comprehensive for complex systems, staffing levels that may be stretched during busy periods, varying management approaches with frequent changes, a demanding workload during peak times, and career progression opportunities that some employees feel could be more accessible for long-term staff.

    Not a good employer (Bendigo)
The good thingsOther workers, on the ground.
The challengesNo proper training for induction. Managing complex POS system, without the proper training and waiting until you know the system BEFORE you service customers. Very stressful. Never enough staff on the shifts. Some favourite staff always moving to the low task areas and not dealing with customers as soon as they walk in. Not being trained in dip testing and then being instructed to do dip testing. Not being given a rest break after working 10 hours straight, because 'we just have too many customers'. Not being trained properly to do the registers at the end of the night and reconcile. So stressful and just awful. Only if you are desperate, or you already know how to do everything and can handle cues of customers first thing in the morning who become frustrated which is completely understandable. Staff and some managers speaking to Uber Eats drivers and truck drivers with their fuel delivery like s**t. It was just embarrassing.

No respect, support or care for staff.
The good thingsOne free coffee per shift
The challengesNo support. Managers constantly leaving and being replaced. Poor implementation of systems. Worked for over ten years with them. Never gets better.
