if you enjoy toxicity , terrible incentives , and your hard earned money played with then this is it
The good thingsNothing it was dreadful
The challengesThey claim that there is work life balance but that's an outright lie you work and work and even if you hit target which in some cases is hard because the ancillary products they try to get you to push is pure rubbish then good luck getting paid any sort of bonus if another department makes a mistake on your deal guess what its your money on the line not theirs no one and i mean no one is there to actually build a solid team very two faced and any body that has a soul has left. you will work 6 days a week at the end of every month good luck trying to get two days off in a row. the grilling you get when you ask for time off is outrageous oh and public holidays do not exist in their eyes your day off is the public holiday.

Barton's is a great stepping stone to get a foothold in the industry but its not for the long term.
The good thingsMy colleagues in the workshop were amazing (most of the time) they were really supportive and helpful.
The challengesManagement was a bit of a joke at times. Between constantly blaming the technicians and other workshop staff for their mistakes and dumping workloads onto workshop leaders made the workplace felt hostile. The vehicles that are sold and worked on are a joke and the fact that we were told to turn a blind eye to the low quality of the product goes to show where their priorities are. The owner is self admittedly only in the business for the money and not for the love of cars, which I would imagine the point of owning a dealership is.

AVOID If you want to get into the car game, there are many other companies that are much better.
The good thingsThere are some genuinely great people working at Bartons, and they are the reason the business continues to succeed. Unfortunately, the biggest challenge is that senior management seems increasingly out of touch with the people on the front line. As a result, many of the experienced and dedicated employees choose to leave, taking valuable knowledge and relationships with them.
The challengesMy experience working at Bartons was disappointing. The staff turnover was incredibly high, with people seemingly coming and going every few months. This constant change made it difficult to build a stable, experienced team and had a noticeable impact on morale and the overall workplace culture. Over time, many of the experienced staff left and were replaced by younger, less experienced employees. While everyone deserves the opportunity to learn, it often felt like there wasn't enough support or continuity to help them succeed. From my perspective, there was a strong focus on financial performance, while employee wellbeing, retention, and long-term development seemed to receive far less attention. I believe businesses are most successful when they invest in their people, and unfortunately that wasn't my experience here. I hope the company takes steps to improve staff retention, support its employees, and build a workplace where experienced people want to stay.
