What’s it like working at ASSA ABLOY?

    AI summary of recent reviews
Employees consistently praise the quality of their colleagues, describing them as amazing, hardworking, and dedicated people who make the workplace enjoyable. The company's strong global brand and interesting products are well-regarded, and staff appreciate the opportunities to learn new skills and take on varied work. On-site parking and canteen facilities are also valued benefits.

However, there are some potential challenges, including concerns about senior management's direction and communication, high staff turnover with experienced employees leaving regularly, and demanding workloads due to limited resources and staffing. Some employees have noted that support from management and recognition could be improved, and there are indications that employee feedback may not always be fully acted upon.

Lack of leadership, direction & support, with a culture that doesn’t genuinely listen to its employees
The good thingsThe company has a strong global brand, established products and some genuinely good people who are committed to their roles and customers. There are capable employees across the business who work extremely hard to keep things moving despite the challenges.
The challengesUnfortunately, my overall experience was impacted by a significant lack of direction & leadership from senior management. There often appeared to be a lack of clear strategy, communication & accountability from the Director & wider leadership team.At times, the leadership environment felt more like a boys’ club, with the team appearing to compete with one another and focus on demonstrating who was performing better, rather than working collectively on the issues that were actually affecting employees, customers & the business. Staff turnover is extremely high, with many experienced & capable people leaving, which should be a major concern for management.Employees are regularly asked for feedback, but if your honest opinion isn't what management want to hear,it feels like you are no longer valued & became targeted.Rather than encouraging open & constructive feedback,it sometimes felt safer to simply agree with management.Employees appear to be overworked & stretched, with insufficient resources.

The best place I have ever worked, by far.
The good thingsAmazing people. Work hours are as advertised, a normal full time work week. Zero hostility and zero appetite for it. Lots of opportunity for learning and challenge. International company with international opportunities.
The challengesThe fist time I can truly not think of anything.
