Retail Store Make-Up Artist – Fixed Term

Aleph Beauty is a New Zealand beauty brand creating high-performance, multi-functional make-up and skincare with people and planet in mind.

We are looking for an experienced Make-Up Artist to join our Commercial Bay team for a fixed-term period from October 2026 to January 2027.

This is a hands-on retail artistry role, working 32 hours per week across four days, including regular weekend work.

The role

As one of our Retail Store Make-Up Artists, you will create an exceptional and highly personalised experience for every customer who walks through our doors.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Delivering make-up consultations, shade matching and product application

• Sharing expert product knowledge and helping customers find products genuinely suited to them

• Building genuine customer connections and converting those experiences into sales

• Working towards individual and store sales targets

• Maintaining exceptional tester hygiene, visual merchandising and store presentation

• Processing sales accurately through our POS system

• Supporting stock replenishment, stock counts and general day-to-day store operations

• Representing Aleph Beauty as a knowledgeable, positive and inclusive brand ambassador

About you

Make-up artistry experience is essential for this role.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has proven or demonstrated professional make-up artistry and shade-matching skills

• Is confident working directly with customers across different skin tones, ages and make-up preferences

• Loves creating personalised customer experiences

• Can sell through genuine service and product recommendations

• Is professional, reliable, warm and confident

• Enjoys working in a busy retail environment

• Is organised, proactive and comfortable working as part of a small team

• Has a genuine interest in beauty, sustainability and the Aleph Beauty brand

• Has retail POS experience; Shopify experience is helpful but not essential

Hours & availability

This is a fixed-term position working 32 hours per week across four days.

You must be available to work weekends as part of your regular roster. Flexibility across the Commercial Bay trading week will also be important.
