Residential Building Consultant – Quality Inspections

Darbecca is one of Australia’s leading residential building consultancy firms specialising in independent construction quality stage inspections throughout the domestic building industry.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated industry professionals to join our field team in Brisbane.

This is an autonomous field-based role suited to individuals who are passionate about construction quality, technical development and continual learning.

At Darbecca, we do not simply employ inspectors. We develop highly capable residential building consultants through structured systems, ongoing technical development and real-world exposure across the domestic construction industry.

The Opportunity

This role offers a level of professional independence and autonomy rarely found within the construction industry.

Following training and onboarding, consultants largely operate independently throughout their day with the support of a highly structured internal office and management team.

Prior stage inspection experience is not essential for the right candidate.


What Your Week Looks Like

Your inspections, scheduling and site information are fully managed through Darbecca’s proprietary software systems, developed internally by consultants for consultants.

Your week will include:

  • conducting stage inspections from pre-pour through to post-maintenance

  • reviewing workmanship and construction quality

  • preparing fully referenced reports

  • identifying defects and workmanship items

  • referencing applicable legislation, NCC requirements, Australian Standards and manufacturer specifications

  • occasional communication with clients onsite, by phone and via email

Our consultants are trained to operate objectively, with all report items referenced directly to applicable rules, regulations and standards.


About You

The ideal candidate will be:

  • self-motivated and disciplined

  • highly observant with strong attention to detail

  • calm, professional and objective

  • technically minded with a strong desire to continually learn

  • capable of working independently

  • experienced within the domestic construction industry

You will also demonstrate:

  • strong knowledge of residential construction sequencing

  • sound understanding of the NCC

  • ability to interpret Australian Standards and manufacturer specifications

  • strong written and verbal communication skills


Minimum Requirements

Applicants should possess either:

  • a Diploma qualification in Building and Construction

OR

  • extensive residential construction industry experience

A White Card is required.
