Estimator

Auckland Glass is one of the largest glazing companies in the greater Auckland region. Since acquiring the business in 2018 the new owners and their experienced staff have taken the business from strength to strength. We have some interesting and challenging commercial projects ahead, as well as continuing to support our Auckland commercial & residential customers. We are looking for staff who want to be part of our great team and have the skills and attitude to be the best.

We supply and install glazing for the commercial, institutional, and residential sector of the markets, this could be exterior glazing for new commercial/industrial buildings or internal partitions, windows, doors, balustrades and canopies for office new builds and fitouts.

This is a role where you will be involved in various aspects of the business, from accounts administration & financial reporting, to estimating off architectural drawings and pricing, and managing and tracking commercial projects. Strong ability to read architectural drawings and complete accurate take offs is critical to be considered for this role. 

About the role:

  • Estimating off architectural drawings

  • Prepare cost estimates and proposals for projects of varying sizes 

  • Analyse project plans and specifications to determine materials, hardware, labour and machinery required

  • Review tender/specifications documents to ensure compliance is met

  • Dealing with client quantity surveyors, project managers and our internal sales team

  • Managing the financial aspect of commercial projects from tendering, to project completion, and final claims

  • Issuing payment claims & liaising with clients

  • Working through our salesforce system – quality assurance & job checking

  • General administration tasks

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Ability to accurately read architectural drawings

  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience

  • Strong computer literacy skills – specifically Excel plus ability to pick up programs quickly

  • Accuracy both in numeracy and detail

  • Self motivated and can work well within a small team environment

  • Time management skills

  • NZ Residency
