Manufacturing Assistant - Slice and Pack

We are currently seeking one reliable and capable individual to work in our Papanui-based factory.

About us

Verkerks is a family-owned and Christchurch-based NZ company that has been producing quality salami and smallgoods products for three generations.

What type of work would you be doing?

You will be working in a team in our Slice and Pack department, performing a range of tasks from boxing products to operating our industrial slicers and packing machines.

What are the hours of work?

40 hours a week, generally between 6am and 2.30pm, Monday to Friday.

• A starting pay rate of $24.76 per hour, with overtime paid at time and a half

Our ideal candidate is:

• Physically fit and strong, able to lift between 10–25kg on a regular basis

• A confident person who is able to cope under pressure

• Used to working in a cold environment (around 6 degrees)

• Reliable and organised, always turning up to work on time

• Willing to speak up when they have a suggestion to make or a problem to raise
