Whānau Support Coordinator

We're looking for a Whānau Support Coordinator (known internally as Whānau Whakapiripiri Kaimahi) to build connections between whānau, whenua, and whakapapa.

In this role, you'll support tamariki and whānau to reconnect with their whakapapa, culture and support networks. Working alongside whānau, iwi and community partners, you'll facilitate meaningful conversations, advocate for positive outcomes and help build stronger futures for generations to come.

This is a full-time position based in West Auckland, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm.

About the role

This is an opportunity to lead meaningful mahi that strengthens identity, belonging and whānau wellbeing. You'll:

• Build trusted relationships with tamariki, whānau, hapū, iwi and community partners.

• Support whakapapa research and safe whānau reconnection.

• Facilitate mana-enhancing kōrero and advocate for positive outcomes.

• Work alongside Oranga Tamariki, Family Court and other key agencies.

• Contribute to best practice while helping build capability across the service.

About you

You'll be someone who leads through relationships, values whānau and is passionate about creating opportunities for others. Ideally, you'll bring:

• Experience in Whānau Ora, social services, kaupapa Māori or community settings.

• Strong knowledge of Te Ao Māori, tikanga Māori and whānau-centred practice.

• Confidence engaging with whānau, hapū, iwi and statutory agencies.

• Excellent communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills.

• A relevant qualification (or equivalent experience) and a Full NZ Driver Licence.
