The Position:
We are looking for a reliable and motivated General Hand to join our Tauranga workshop. You will support daily operations by managing stock and inventory, assisting with basic assembly, coordinating freight, and liaising with internal and external contacts to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. The role requires experience in a production or engineering environment, basic hydraulic knowledge, forklift competence, strong organisational skills, and a proactive, “get it done” attitude. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company focused on quality output.
What You'll Do:
Coordinate freight logistics: receive, check, handle, and dispatch goods.
Maintain accurate inventory records and complete monthly stocktakes.
Label, catalogue, and store items appropriately.
Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch.
Assist with basic assembly to support workshop workflow.
Operate forklifts and move heavy packages safely.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
What We're Looking For:
Experience as a general hand in an engineering or production environment.
Basic assembly and mechanical skills, preferably with hydraulics knowledge.
Forklift licence and ability to handle physical work.
Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Computer literate, proficient with Microsoft Office.
Reliable, trustworthy, team-oriented, and able to work independently.
Positive work ethic and proactive “get it done” attitude.
Great verbal communication skills with the ability to relate well with others
