General Manager - New Zealand Snowsports Instructors Alliance (NZSIA)
Arrowtown (Hybrid) | 0.8 FTE (with flexibility)

Are you ready to step into a newly created leadership role and make it your own?

NZSIA is looking for an operationally focused General Manager to lead delivery, strengthen relationships, and help shape the organisation’s future.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, operational leadership role where, working closely with the Board, you’ll turn strategy into action and ensure NZSIA continues to deliver high-quality programmes and services across New Zealand and internationally.

You’ll bring clarity, structure, efficiency and momentum—supporting a passionate team while building strong connections across the snowsports community.

If you are seeking variety, autonomy, and being part of a purpose-driven organisation, this role offers the opportunity to truly make an impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the delivery of NZSIA programmes and services

  • Driving quality, consistency, and continuous improvement

  • Providing leadership to Course Managers, contractors, and administration

  • Ensuring clear workflows, accountability, and effective systems

  • Managing budgets, financial performance, and reporting to the Board

  • Supporting and enabling the Board with timely, accurate insights

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships across the industry

  • Representing NZSIA nationally and internationally alongside the President

  • Strengthening NZSIA’s reputation as a trusted, high-quality organisation

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone confident, capable, and ready to hit the ground running, bringing with them:

  • Proven operational leadership experience

  • Strong financial and organisational management skills

  • Confidence working with a Board, and multiple stakeholders, delivering on strategic priorities

  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills

  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset

  • The ability to balance big-picture thinking with day-to-day delivery

Experience in snowsports, outdoor recreation, or a membership-based organisation is a bonus—but not essential.

Why This Role?

This is more than just a management role—it’s a chance to help shape the future of NZSIA.

  • A newly created role with real scope to influence and grow

  • Work alongside passionate people in a unique and inspiring industry

  • Flexibility in working arrangements and FTE structure

  • Opportunities for national and international engagement

  • A lifestyle-friendly base in Arrowtown, at the heart of New Zealand’s alpine environment

Ready to Apply?

If you’re excited by the opportunity to lead, build, and make a meaningful impact in the snowsports industry, we’d love to hear from you.
