Community Support Worker Role - Casual

Brackenridge is excited to announce that we are looking for casual Community Support Workers in the Ashburton region. This is an established role within our organization, and we are currently seeking for individuals who are passionate about supporting people with disabilities. This position offers approximately 20 hours per week. Previous experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour would be an advantage.


ABOUT THE ROLE | TE MAHI TURANGA

We are seeking compassionate and reliable staff to work alongside individuals with complex needs. In this role, you will provide in home support with a strong focus on delivering person centered outcomes and empowering each individual to thrive.

If you are keen to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities, we would like to hear from you. You will need to have a desire to work with people to support them to achieve their goals. Experience in working with those with disabilities is desirable but may not be essential.

This will involve:

·       Actively promoting self-advocacy, self-confidence, and independence through goal setting

·       Assisting people to achieve opportunities and involvement in a lifestyle of their choice shared by family, friends and the community

WHAT YOU WILL NEED | NGA PUKENGA, NGA TOHU OU

·       You must have a full, clean and current New Zealand driver’s licence.

·       A registered vehicle with current warrant of fitness and insurance.

·       Experience or knowledge of working with people with disability and/or autism would be advantageous but not essential.

·       It would be advantageous if you have a Level 2, 3 or 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or a recognized equivalent qualification, or be willing to complete study towards this qualification.

·       Commitment to engage and complete the organisational training requirements.

·       Confidence utilizing technology for notes and reports.

·       Awareness of the Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its relevance to the support of Maori in Aotearoa/New Zealand.

·       Eligibility to work in New Zealand.

·       Brackenridge requires all employees to be Fully Vaccinated AND BOOSTED against Covid-19.
