About the Role:
Our role is not simply to fund initiatives and activity. We help create the conditions for meaningful collaboration and stronger outcomes by networking and connecting partners, convening Communities of Practice, and supporting shared learning through Te Whiriwhiringa | The Nest and our digital platforms. EPIT is entering a focused new phase, with an emphasis on fewer, longer-term partnerships, stronger sector connections, and disciplined, evidence-informed action.
As Chief Executive, you will lead this work end-to-end and take EPIT into its next phase of growth. You will:
This is not a traditional service delivery role. Success comes through influence, alignment and execution - bringing others together to make things happen. You will need to be comfortable operating with ambiguity, building relationships at pace, and balancing strategy with hands-on delivery.

- Set and drive EPIT’s strategic direction
- Work closely with anchor partners, including the Hugh Green Foundation, to deepen impact
- Extend EPIT’s partnership base to new companies, funders and collaborators
- Identify opportunities and turn them into funded, deliverable initiatives
- Scale EPIT’s reach, capability and influence over time
- Ensure programmes are practical, evidence-informed and achieving impact
- Lead a small, capable team and steward EPIT’s resources

- A track record of building partnerships that lead to real outcomes and investment
- The ability to spot opportunities and turn them into funded, deliverable initiatives
- Commercial judgement, including managing funding, resources and growth
- Experience scaling an organisation, programme or platform beyond its current footprint
- Strong stakeholder capability across sectors, including working with senior leaders
- The ability to move between strategy and delivery with pace and clarity
- A focus on results, with the discipline to measure impact and adjust course
