Business Development Manager
The Role at a Glance:
Location: Albany, Auckland (with 25% NZ-wide travel).
Focus: 70% New Business Development / 30% Account Management.
Package: $80k Base + $30k OTE Bonus + Car + Koru + Tools.

We are looking for a highly self-motivated sales professional, who will primarily be responsible for B2B new business development and isn’t afraid to pick up the phone or knock on a door. Reporting to the Director, you will drive growth by identifying and closing new opportunities through proactive research and high-energy prospecting while managing a portfolio of existing key accounts.
This is a full-time role based in Albany, Auckland with extensive overnight travel required throughout NZ, approximately four weeks per quarter, so will suit someone who loves getting out from behind a desk. There will be occasional weekend travel for conferences (up to three weekends per year, with time-in-lieu provided).
Key responsibilities
Focus on identifying, pursuing and securing new business opportunities through proactive phone and in-person cold-calling, networking and market research
Lead healthcare prospecting of private healthcare and aged care facilities
Develop and implement sales strategies to exceed growth targets and KPIs within healthcare and assigned territories
Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing tailored textile solutions and excellent ongoing support
Conduct professional product demonstrations and presentations showcasing product features and benefits
Represent the company at trade shows and conferences to promote our products and expand your network
Maintain up to date records of all sales activities and pipeline opportunities within the CRM
Prepare regular sales forecasts and performance metrics for team presentations
Qualifications
Minimum five years+ experience in B2B new business development sales
Strong track record of securing new clients and driving revenue growth
Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients at all levels
Willingness to travel overnight to sales regions within NZ, and proven ability to self-manage a travel itinerary and optimise regional road trips for maximum efficiency.
Resilience and a high level of emotional intelligence to handle the ‘no’s’ that come with new business development
Knowledge of commercial textiles or the textile industry is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided
Experience within the healthcare industry is an advantage but not essential
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and generate actionable insights
Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite with a solid understanding of MS Excel
Full working rights in NZ with no restrictions
Hold a current full NZ driver licence.
Remuneration includes:
Base salary ($80,000) + quarterly sales bonus structure (up to $30,000 OTE per year)
