Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
As General Practitioner Lead, you will provide both clinical care and leadership, supporting the delivery and ongoing development of integrated primary health services across our East Coast network.
This role includes:
Providing high-quality general practice and urgent care
Supporting continuity of care across whānau and communities
Providing clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team
Contributing to service design and models of care
Supporting workforce development, mentoring, and clinical guidance
Participation in a shared on-call roster, with flexibility and team support
You will work across our coastal clinics and at Te Puia Springs Hospital, within a team that is committed, collaborative, and grounded in kaupapa Māori.

Salary from $250,000 FTE (DOE) + full professional package

Fellowship with the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (or equivalent)
Current APC and eligibility to practice in Aotearoa
A commitment to rural and/or Māori health outcomes
Strong clinical capability and sound judgement
An interest in leadership, service development, or mentoring
Most importantly, you will value whānau-centred care, relationships, and community impact.
