Operations Supervisor
PECCS Operations Supervisor | Mt Wellington | Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
About the Role:
Are you a highly organised, detail-oriented professional with a knack for logistics and operations? We are looking for an Operations Supervisor based in our head office to provide essential support to our Prisoner Escort & Court Custodial Services (PECCS) team. In this pivotal role, you’ll help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of a complex, high-pressure operation, from coordinating logistics and processing timesheets to supporting roster planning and wider administrative functions.
This isn’t just an administrative role; it’s a critical position supporting a service at the heart of New Zealand’s justice system. As a key point of contact for operational matters, you’ll work closely with the PECCS Manager, Operations Managers, Shift Supervisors, and frontline officers, as well as external stakeholders including NZ Police, the Department of Corrections, and the Ministry of Justice. Your work will directly enable the safe, secure, and efficient delivery of services that keep our communities safe.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working across multiple stakeholders, and take pride in precision and reliability, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Support: Help manage daily operations, ensuring timely task assignments, and providing logistical solutions.
HR & Compliance: Assist in recruitment, training, performance management, and staff development initiatives.
Financial & Resource Management: Monitor resources and support financial performance by overseeing payroll, rostering, and resource utilization.
Communication: Oversee communication channels, ensuring smooth coordination across teams and escalating when necessary.
Health & Safety: Contribute to a safe working environment for staff, prisoners, and other stakeholders.
Professional Development: Develop an in-depth understanding of PECCS operations and work towards leadership growth.
About You:
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
Previous experience in administrative, operational support, or coordination roles.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Proficiency in rostering, payroll systems, or workforce management tools.
A commitment to integrity, ethical standards, and professionalism.
A strong communicator who is confident in managing teams and resolving challenges.
Flexibility to adapt to operational needs and a willingness to undertake field work or training.
