Pipe Fitter

Andritz Hydro is a world leader in the supply of electrical and mechanical renewable energy equipment to the hydro power industry. The company headquarters are based in Austria, with the NZ team providing services to power generation customers in NZ and the South Pacific region.

We require a 2 x Pipe Fitters to join our highly skilled team to work on a significant hydro project at the Kaitawa Power Station, located approx 2 hours from Napier/Hastings & Gisborne.

As an experienced pipe fitter, what we are looking for most is your reliability, teamwork and passion for what you do.

It is important you have the below:

  • Trade Certificate, with confidence in your trade

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience 

  • Be able to interpret technical drawings and specifications; and apply relevant industry standards to finished products

  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team

  • First Aid, Confined Space and Working at Heights certificates are an advantage, but we will supply you with the necessary training if you do not hold these

  • Suitable welding qualifications are beneficial but not necessary 

  • To ensure safety and communication on site we require advanced level English speaking and reading.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Active participation to make the site a safe place to work

  • Working primarily with stainless steel pipe

  • Welded and threaded pipe and hydraulic tubing system assembly

  • Working together with our welders to complete pipe systems to drawing 

  • Undertaking pressure testing as required

  • Managing welding maps and as-built drawings

  • Ensuring quality standards on all project activities 

We work 9 hours per day, 5 days per week, with the potential for overtime on some Saturday's.
