We are seeking a Land Surveyor or Survey Technician to join our Queenstown team and progress your surveying career while working on high-quality land and site development projects in one of New Zealand’s most distinctive regions.

The Opportunity

Our Queenstown office is seeking a Land Surveyor or Survey Technician to join the team. This role offers exposure to a broad range of projects and the opportunity to take ownership of your work from start to finish, with flexibility to shape the role around your skills and level of experience.

You will work closely with an experienced Licensed Cadastral Surveyor and Branch Manager and be supported by the wider Eliot Sinclair surveying network across the South Island. This position is suitable for graduate surveyors, technicians, or more experienced practitioners looking to continue developing their capability in a well-supported environment.

For candidates relocating to Queenstown, we can provide temporary accommodation in our company apartment above the office to support your transition while you secure longer-term housing.

The Role

• Deliver surveying services across land development and infrastructure projects

• Undertake topographical, setting out, UAV, cadastral, hydrographic and 3D laser scanning surveys

• Work collaboratively with surveyors, planners and engineers across our South Island offices

• Manage projects appropriate to your experience, with technical support and review

• Participate in mentoring and professional development, including licensing support where applicable

What We’re Looking For

• A background in surveying or survey support, at any stage of your career

• Sound communication skills and professional judgement

• A practical, considered approach to problem-solving

• Experience with 12d Model is an advantage, with training available

• You must be currently living in New Zealand and legally entitled to work here
