Construction Labourer / Hammer Hand – Palmerston North
We’re seeking a reliable and hard-working Construction Labourer / Hammer Hand to join a fast-paced team delivering a range of commercial projects across the Palmerston North region.
This is a hands-on role supporting various commercial construction projects, including site preparation, structural work, and general building assistance. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, working outdoors, and being part of a productive, safety-focused crew.
- Assist builders across a variety of commercial projects
- Support installation work including fencing, decking, and temporary site structures
- Carry out general labouring duties such as lifting, moving materials, and site preparation
- Assist with measuring, cutting, and basic carpentry tasks
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised worksite
- Previous experience in construction or as a hammer hand (commercial project experience preferred)
- Strong reliability and work ethic
- Physically fit and comfortable working on active construction sites
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team
- Good understanding of site health & safety practices
- Must be able to pass pre-employment checks, including a drug screen.
- Police Check (Criminal Record Check)
- Valid New Zealand driver’s licence preferred
