We are committed to craftsmanship, product excellence and sustainable manufacturing practices. As our business continues to grow across domestic and international markets, we are seeking a professional Accountant to support our financial operations and strategic expansion.

Position Summary

As the Accountant, you will play a key role in overseeing the company’s financial reporting, cost analysis and compliance functions within a manufacturing environment. You will provide strategic financial insights to support production planning, inventory management and long-term business growth.

This role requires strong analytical capability and the ability to ensure compliance with New Zealand financial regulations while supporting operational decision-making.

Responsibilities

1.Prepare full set of financial statements in accordance with New Zealand accounting standards for a manufacturing and trading entity.

2.Ensure compliance with IRD requirements including GST (domestic and export), PAYE, FBT and corporate income tax obligations.

3.Prepare and review taxation returns and liaise with external accountants, auditors, banks and regulatory authorities.

4.Develop, monitor and analyse annual budgets and rolling cash flow forecasts to support production planning and business growth.

5.Analyse production costs, raw material procurement costs (including alpaca fibre), inventory valuation and gross margin performance.

6.Monitor stock levels and inventory control systems to ensure accurate valuation of finished goods and raw materials.

7.Provide financial analysis to support pricing strategies, wholesale distribution, export planning and cost optimisation initiatives.

8.Examine operating income and expenditure to improve profitability and trading effectiveness across manufacturing and retail channels.

9.Introduce, maintain and improve accounting systems (e.g., Xero or similar) to ensure accurate financial reporting and internal controls.

10.Manage treasury functions including cash flow monitoring, banking relationships and financial risk management.

11.Establish and review internal control and risk management procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with New Zealand corporate governance standards.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

2. Or at least 3 years of accounting experience or experience in a related field.

3. Strong knowledge of New Zealand taxation and financial reporting standards.

4. Experience in a manufacturing or trading environment is preferred.

5. Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.

Remuneration and work location:

1. Pay range: $37–$40 per hour

2. Minimum working hours: 40 hours per week (full-time position)
