External Fraud Investigator

• Permanent part-time position in Kiwibank’s leading Customer Protection Team

• Recruiting for Friday 2pm - 6pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 6pm roster

• Based in Auckland, Lower Hutt, Wellington, Christchurch or Hastings with hybrid work arrangments

Join Kiwibank’s Customer Protection team and contribute to protecting our customers from the impact of financial crime. 

In this role you will:

• Manage fraud cases to minimize the impacts of fraud and financial crime for our customers and business

• Action and monitor potential fraud alerts on the Bank’s fraud detection tools

• Determine whether transactions are fraudulent using available data and information, including contacting customers

• Complete initial analyses of fraud and fraud trends to ensure appropriate referrals of alerts and files are undertaken

• Contribute to continuous improvement by using your knowledge and experience to improve the effectiveness of systems, processes and procedures used

• Collaborate with Kiwibank’s frontline teams, and other stakeholders to support our customers and business Ensure the objectives and SLAs of the team are all met.

This is a permanent part-time position working Friday 2pm - 6pm, Saturday 9am - 6pm and Sunday 9am to 6pm.

At Kiwibank, we will help you build on your strengths and develop new skills, but in the meantime, we would love to hear from you if you have some of the following skills and experience: 

• Previous fraud prevention and customer protection experience in a similar role

• A strong understanding of the financial industry, fraud and anti-money laundering environment and legislation

• Previous experience using fraud detection systems, SQL, and advanced Excel

• Strong problem-solving skills and business acumen

• Great communication and relationship building.
