About the Opportunity
We’re seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Quantity Surveying team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This role is focused on a key internal project—building out and refining our pricing model. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and have a direct impact on improving pricing accuracy, efficiency, and scalability across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
Develop and structure a rate-based estimating system
Translate existing pricing into a rate book that feeds across multiple typologies
Ensure updates to rates flow through and automatically adjust project pricing
Support procurement by going to market to validate and update rates
Assist with estimating, take-offs, and pricing where required
About You
You’re a highly experienced estimator who understands not just pricing—but how buildings actually go together. Ideally, you’ve come from a builder background as well as estimating, giving you strong practical and commercial insight. You’ll bring:
10+ years’ NZ residential construction experience (low-rise terraces & multi-units)
Strong estimating/QS background with deep pricing expertise
Detailed knowledge of residential construction methodologies
Advanced Excel skills (critical for building and managing rate systems)
Strong negotiation and procurement capability
Ability to work independently and deliver outcomes quickly
Experience with CostX and Buildertrend (preferred)
NZ-based with permanent residency
Immediate or near-immediate availability
