Line Mechanic

At Scanpower Contracting, we take pride in delivering safe, high‑quality electrical infrastructure that supports communities across the lower North Island. We are looking for an experienced Line Mechanic to join our Contracting Division, based in Feilding.

This is a hands‑on role working across overhead and underground electricity networks. The work is primarily across the Manawatū and Wairarapa regions, with travel and stay away work required from time to time depending on project needs. Role responsibilities

• As a Line Mechanic with Scanpower, your work will be varied and practical. You will be responsible for:

• Constructing, maintaining, and repairing overhead and underground electricity networks

• Completing power line works safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of workmanship

• Working at height and on the ground, operating tools, plant, and equipment as required

• Following electrical regulations, health and safety requirements, and Scanpower working practices

• Supporting site foremen and working collaboratively with your crew to deliver project outcomes

• Participating in site safety processes including hazard identification and reporting

About you

You will bring solid technical skills, a strong safety mindset, and a team‑focused approach to your work. We are looking for someone who has:

• NZ Certificate Level 4, Line Mechanic

• EWRB registration and current practising licence

• HT licence

• Experience working on overhead networks, with exposure to underground work

• A strong commitment to safety, quality, and getting the job done right

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
