Support Worker / Carer – Part Time (Eskdale, Napier)

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Support Worker to assist in the care of our 10-year-old son, James, in a home-based setting in Eskdale.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, dependable, and motivated to support a child with complex care needs in a calm and supportive family environment.

Key Details

• Location: Eskdale, Napier

• Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – 2:00pm to 7:00pm

• Employment Type: Part-time

• Pay Rate: From $30 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role

This role involves providing after-school and evening support in a private home environment. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with daily personal care needs

• Supporting participation in play and activities

• Helping with meal preparation and routines

• Ensuring a safe, positive, and structured environment

• Following established care plans and routines

Full training will be provided to the successful applicant.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in caregiving, support work, disability support, or childcare is preferred but not essential

• A caring, patient, and positive attitude

• Ability to work independently and follow guidance

• Strong communication and reliability

Mandatory Requirements

• Legal right to work in New Zealand

• Full, clean driver’s licence

• Willingness to undergo a police vetting process
