Risk and Assurance Manager
We're looking for a Risk and Assurance Manager to join our People and Transformation team and play a key role in supporting MAS through a significant period of enterprise change.
This role sits within MAS's Elevate programme and focuses on helping the business understand, manage and adapt its operational risk and control environment as new systems, processes and ways of working are introduced. You'll work closely with business leaders, delivery teams and governance forums to provide pragmatic, forward-looking risk advice, balancing delivery outcomes with MAS's risk appetite.

What your day might look like
Working with business, operational and technology teams to understand how change is impacting the current and future state operational risk and control environment, with an initial focus on MAS's general insurance business
Leading the identification and documentation of current state operational risks and controls, and supporting the design of future state risk and control environments
Advising delivery and programme teams on risk identification, mitigation planning, escalation and reporting across MAS's change portfolio
Supporting project teams to embed good risk management practices, including maintaining risk registers and facilitating risk workshops
Providing independent, expert insight on delivery and transformation-related risk to programme leadership and governance forums
Supporting programme and project assurance activities as required, including contributing to assurance plans, reviews and engagement with external assurance partners
Producing clear, consolidated risk reporting and insights - identifying trends, emerging risks and practical mitigation actions
Acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, promoting a strong risk-aware culture and continuously improving risk and assurance practices across the business
What we're looking for
Proven experience in operational risk management, ideally within a regulated financial services environment (general insurance experience preferred)
Strong understanding of enterprise risk frameworks, control environments, governance and risk reporting
Experience supporting or advising large technology or business transformation programmes, with exposure to delivery risk and assurance activities
Ability to provide pragmatic, risk-based advice that supports delivery while remaining aligned to organisational risk appetite
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify patterns, trends and emerging risks
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence engaging across business, technology and senior leadership audiences
Experience facilitating risk workshops, managing competing priorities and working effectively in fast-paced change environments
Relevant risk, audit or governance qualifications preferred (e.g. risk management, internal audit, ISO31000)
