FFP is looking for a Fire Alarm Technician to join their Christchurch team, working across installation, servicing, testing and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
This is a hands-on role working across commercial sites throughout Christchurch and surrounding areas.

About the Role
This role offers great variety across both installation projects and ongoing service work.
You'll be installing and commissioning new fire alarm systems, completing routine testing and inspections, carrying out preventative maintenance, and responding to service callouts when needed. You will also be responsible for fault finding, repairs and small alterations to ensure systems remain compliant and fully operational.
You'll be working in a professional environment with strong systems and processes, where quality workmanship and good customer service are highly valued.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Install and commission fire alarm systems on commercial sites
  • Conduct scheduled testing and compliance inspections
  • Carry out routine servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Diagnose and resolve system faults
  • Respond to service callouts when required
  • Complete accurate service reports and system documentation
  • Communicate professionally with customers on site
  • Ensure all work meets NZ fire safety standards and company procedures
What You'll Bring
  • Experience working with fire alarm systems, electrical systems, or related technology
  • Strong computer skills and confidence using tablets or electronic job systems
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
  • Good understanding of compliance and safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail with documentation and reporting
  • Clear communication and good customer service skills
  • Physically capable of working at heights and in ceiling spaces
