About us
CareNZ Manaaki Aotearoa is a leader in the provision of services and interventions for people experiencing issues with alcohol and other drugs, with a range of community and residential services across New Zealand.
The AODTC provides an alternative to prison by offering comprehensive treatment including; peer and whānau support, assessment, case management, therapeutic residential and community group day programmes. Sentencing is deferred while participants work through the programme, with the court supporting progress.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential House Manager to oversee the daily operations of our two residential facilities, with a total of 10 beds. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, supportive, and structured environment for residents, promoting their recovery journey.
In this role you will;
Provide leadership and support for the residential support workers
Manage the staff rosters
Oversee the daily operations of the residential and transitional facilities
Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive living environment for residents
Enforce house rules consistently and fairly
Provide support and guidance to residents in their recovery process
Co-ordinate with clinical staff, other support staff and services to support residents
Manage house budgets, supplies, and resources efficiently
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Foster a positive and inclusive community within the houses.
Be flexible to work from other CareNZ sites in the Waikato region.
What are we looking for?
Effective leadership for the residential support workers and residents
Experience working in addiction recovery or residential treatment environments
Ability to authentically connect with participants while maintaining professional boundaries
Understanding of recovery support models & relevant regulatory and accreditation standards
Excellent communication and organisational skills, and computer literacy
Experience in roster coordination and basic budget management
Experience overseeing health and safety systems within a service environment
Commitment to incorporate the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Māori in service delivery.
Ability to handle stressful situations and emergencies calmly and effectively

What you will need;
Minimum Level 4 qualification in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health, or a related field (Level 7 qualification is desirable)
Experience working in addiction recovery or residential treatment environment
A current clean, full driver licence
Current First Aid Certificate
Current Medication Administration Competency
Satisfactory Ministry of Justice and Police clearances
Permanent work rights in New Zealand.
