To help us with this, we are searching for an Account Management Officer to join our Credit Solutions Team based at our Head Office in Invercargill.
The main purpose of this role is to manage member loan arrears and overdrawn accounts within the SBS Member Experience network. This includes contributing towards the credit risk management of the SBS retail loan portfolio by working with members to develop, implement and monitor Account Management Strategies ("AMS") to clear loan arrears and overdrawn accounts whilst maintaining high-levels of member engagement and service.
What you'll be busy with:
- Action arrears dashboards, and reports to manage loan arrears/overdrawn accounts in line with SBS policy and process
- Contact members in arrears/overdraft, confirm cause, and agree an AMS to clear the excess and prevent recurrence
- Assess restructures, amendments, further advances and other requests as part of AMS implementation, per SBS Credit Risk Policy and process
- Monitor accounts to ensure members meet agreed AMS commitments
- Follow up where an AMS is not met, identify reasons, and revise the member strategy as needed
- Identify non-recoverable arrears/overdraft cases within 90 days and liaise with Credit Solutions to assess and arrange transfer
What you'll bring:
- Good understanding of retail banking products and services
- Strong knowledge of retail lending products and the credit risk process
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word and Excel required) Microsoft
- Sound business acumen and time management skills including excellent attention to detail and ability to effectively prioritise and manage to deadlines
- Ability to show empathy and understanding when dealing with people in difficult financial circumstances
- Be a keen learner who welcomes the opportunity to study and obtain NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5)

This role is full-time, 37.5 hours a week worked between 8.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
