Our Behaviour Specialists provide a range of services to our neuro-diverse learners. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in our school community, be a member of a multidisciplinary team and receive support from our senior leadership team.  This is a full-time, fixed-term position until the end of 2026 (parental leave cover).

 

  Skills, experience and qualifications needed:

  • Psychology degree specialising in Applied Behaviour Analysis or equivalent qualification

  • Experience working with neurodiverse individuals who exhibit behaviours of concern. 

  • Conduct observations and assessments of behaviours of concern.

  • Design and implement interventions in conjunction with the class team (and other specialists as required) 

  • Develop and review Behaviour Support Plans

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  

  • Demonstrate resilience, problem-solving skills and self-reflection.

  • A team player: able to work within a multidisciplinary team, support teaching staff, our learners and our whanau

  • An understanding of Aotearoa New Zealand’s cultural heritage using Te Tiriti o Waitangi as the foundation

  • View education through a culturally responsive lens

  • Willing to participate in ongoing professional development

  • Use IT confidently

  • Have a current, clean driver's licence and willingness to use your own vehicle (travel reimbursed)

  • You must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
