Investigation Support Officers are an integral part of the police prosecution structure. We are looking for a highly organised and detail‑focused individual to support the significant administrative demands associated with ASAT file management. In this role, you will help compile high‑quality prosecution files, facilitate the timely return of exhibits, and ensure victims are kept well informed, with all updates accurately recorded in Police systems.
You will also be responsible for completing filing actions across assigned files and may take on additional responsibilities where your experience or background adds value. This is a key position that helps ensure files are progressed efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with our commitment to excellent service and victim care.
Key Accountabilities:
- Building and maintaining relationships with a range of internal workgroups/teams.
- Working in a high preforming team environment based on the core values of the New Zealand Police.
- Working and understanding how your role and actions contribute to the vison and goals of our organisation.
- Handling sensitive files on a day-to-day basis

Whilst we are looking for skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the role, we also place high importance on your state of mind, the alignment of your values with ours, your ability to contribute to and build high performing teams, and the way that you lead yourself or others.
- Knowledge and experience in the review and preparation of prosecution files from initial arrest/summons to final presentation to the Police Prosecution Service or the Office of the Crown Solicitor.
- Experience dealing with in-confidence and sensitive material as pe the New Zealand government Protective Security Framework.
- Able to perform in an environment that requires team members to work largely autonomously while meeting strict deadlines.
- Competent in multiple computer systems and the use of a variety of software and associated applications.
- Personal commitment to delivering a high standard of work.
- Clear, committed and strong-willed mindset.
- Previous experience as a constabulary member of police; a background in investigations, or in another equivalent law enforcement agency would be an advantage.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $87,306 and $91,353 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
