Are you a senior Registered Nurse ready to take on a broader clinical leadership role across multiple sites?

Sound Care Group is seeking a Roving Clinical Lead to provide senior clinical oversight and support across our facilities. This is a dynamic, hands-on role focused on strengthening clinical practice, supporting teams, and ensuring consistent, high-quality care across the organisation.


About the Role

The Roving Clinical Lead functions as a senior clinical resource across multiple sites, working closely with Facility, Nurse, and Clinical Managers, as well as Registered Nurses and care teams.

This role is not a traditional site-based management position. Instead, it plays a critical role in bridging site-level clinical leadership and group clinical governance, ensuring consistency in standards, systems, and quality of care across Sound Care Group.

Regular travel is required across Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Taranaki, and Dunedin.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Support

  • Provide senior clinical leadership across facilities through regular site visits and operational support

  • Act as an escalation point for complex clinical situations

  • Support sites during periods of operational pressure, staffing shortages, or transition

  • Provide hands-on guidance to ensure safe clinical practice

Clinical Governance & Standards

  • Support consistency of clinical practice across all sites

  • Assist in monitoring compliance with Health and Disability Standards, ARC requirements, and Ministry of Health expectations

  • Review clinical documentation and support implementation of policies and procedures

  • Provide recommendations for continuous clinical improvement

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Support systems such as incident management, infection control, and falls prevention

  • Assist with audit preparation, corrective action plans, and compliance activities

  • Promote a culture of safe practice and continuous improvement

Mentoring & Clinical Development

  • Coach and mentor Registered Nurses and senior caregivers across sites

  • Support competency development, orientation, and clinical capability building

  • Identify training needs and contribute to workforce development

Resident-Centred Care

  • Promote person-centred, culturally safe care aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles

  • Support complex case reviews and multidisciplinary discussions

  • Engage with residents, families, and whānau as needed

Cross-Site Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with clinical and operational leaders across all facilities

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and consistency of practice across sites


About You

  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current APC

  • Minimum 5 years’ clinical nursing experience, preferably in aged residential care

  • Experience in senior clinical or leadership roles (e.g. Senior RN, Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Lead)

  • Strong understanding of:

    • NZ Health and Disability Standards

    • Aged Residential Care requirements

    • Clinical documentation and audit processes

  • InterRAI trained (or willingness to complete)

  • Strong mentoring, communication, and relationship-building skills

  • Full driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly
