Receptionist/Administrator Merrilands Medical
Merrilands Medical Centre is on the look out for a part-time Receptionist/Administrator to become a valued member of our friendly, supportive team. This role extends beyond reception duties — you’ll be a vital first point of contact for our patients, helping ensure a compassionate, respectful, and positive healthcare experience from their first interaction.
What You’ll Be Doing:
In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll:
Greet and assist patients over the phone with warmth, professionalism, and care
Manage appointment scheduling accurately and efficiently
Respond to email enquiries in a timely and friendly manner
Maintain patient records through precise scanning and filing, ensuring confidentiality at all times
Provide essential administrative and reception support to our wider team
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who:
Has a naturally warm, approachable manner and communicates clearly and professionally
Stays calm, organised, and positive in a fast-paced environment
Can juggle multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in their work
Is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service
Is confident using computers and open to learning new systems
Works well as part of a team and adapts easily to changing needs
Has previous experience in a GP or healthcare setting (highly desirable)
Hours of work (16 hrs p/wk):
Thursday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
Our practice operates Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:30pm. Flexibility is essential, as you’ll be required to cover sick leave and annual leave when needed.
