We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join our close‑knit team in Queenstown. For the right applicant, this will be a senior finance role within the business, offering breadth, autonomy, and genuine involvement in both operational and strategic decision‑making across a dynamic tourism environment.

About the Role

As Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with the owner and operational teams, providing financial insight, stewardship and support across the organisation.

While retaining responsibility for core accounting and compliance, this role is designed to go beyond transaction processing — partnering with the business to improve visibility, performance and decision‑making.

In addition to Over The Top, the role supports affiliated entities (Golf Federation, Eye In The Sky (PDL) and the James PG Foundation).

For the right person, this position offers significant variety — from financial analysis and reporting through to engaging with guests and assisting with hosting at our Alpine Kitchen and High Country Station.

Key Responsibilities

·       Act as a Finance Business Partner to leadership and operations, providing trusted financial advice and insights

·       End‑to‑end responsibility for accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timeliness

·       Review job pricing, margins and prepare invoices for approval

·       Management and oversight of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

·       Bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations

·       Preparation and filing of GST and PAYE returns

·       Maintenance and governance of customer and supplier master data

·       Financial reporting, analysis and variance investigation

·       Collaborate with operational teams to resolve discrepancies and support business decisions

·       Liaise with external advisors

·       Actively contribute as a senior member of the operations and administration team

·       Ensure compliance with OTT policies, Safety Management Systems (SMS) and company culture

About You

You are an experienced finance professional who enjoys being embedded in the business and influencing outcomes. You are comfortable balancing detail with big‑picture thinking and thrive in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment.

You will bring:

·       Proven experience in a Finance Business Partner or similar role

·       Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

·       A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership

·       Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills

·       Strong knowledge of Xero, Excel and MYOB payroll (advantageous)

·       Experience working in tourism, hospitality, aviation or other operationally intensive environments (advantageous)

Given we operate seven days a week, it would be ideal to be able to work varied shifts including some weekends and public holidays.
