Garden to Table Programme; Kitchen Specialist
We are seeking a dedicated and preferably experienced part time Kitchen Specialist to join our Garden to Table team at Mt Albert Primary School. This is a part-time role 9.45-12.45pm Thursdays and Fridays during term time, that will see you working closely with our students to instil a passion for healthy eating and cooking. As a Kitchen Specialist, you will be responsible (with our staff) for planning and delivering engaging cooking lessons that align with the school's curriculum.

What you'll be doing

• Plan and deliver interactive cooking lessons for primary school students

• Teach students about nutrition, food preparation, and kitchen safety

• Collaborate with teachers to integrate cooking activities into the wider curriculum

• Manage the school kitchen, ensuring it is well-stocked and maintained

What we're looking for

• Preferably some experience working as a chef or in a professional kitchen environment

• Strong knowledge of nutrition, food preparation, and kitchen safety

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students

• Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers

• A passion for educating young people about healthy eating and cooking
