ABOUT THE POSITION

We have an opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant, reporting to the Financial Controller, to join the Head Office Finance team in Leeston on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a part-time role of 32 hours per week, with the exact hours able to be agreed with the successful candidate.

ABOUT THE COMPANY
Cochranes is a family-owned business with its head office in Leeston, celebrating 75 years in business this year. With five established branches throughout Canterbury and Marlborough the company is experiencing exciting growth. We are located in the township of Leeston, just 20mins from Rolleston or Lincoln.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-       Compilation of monthly financial statements

-       Statutory reporting and compliance

-       Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts

-       Maintenance of Xero fixed asset register

-       Preparation of accruals

To be successful in this role you will:

-       Be a Chartered Accountant

-       Have at least 5 years accounting experience

-       Experience in inventory accounting systems would be beneficial

-       Excellent computer literacy especially in Excel

-       Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

-       Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines

-       Strong relationship building and excellent written and verbal communication skills

-       Reside in New Zealand and be permitted to work here
