About the Role

We’re seeking a motivated and technically skilled Project Engineer to join our Tauranga team. This permanent role will support the delivery of infrastructure projects across the Bay of Plenty, including concrete structures, earthworks, road construction and Three Waters works. Working alongside Project Managers and Site Supervisors, you will manage key engineering aspects of projects, collaborate with clients and contractors, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to specification.

About Us

RZG Construction, now part of the Isaac Group, is a growing civil construction company based in Tauranga. The team delivers complex infrastructure projects across the Bay of Plenty, specialising in structures, Three Waters, drainage and land development, with a strong focus on quality, collaboration and safe project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Project Managers and Site Supervisors to plan, programme and deliver civil construction works.

  • Monitor site progress, quality and compliance through inspections and site documentation.

  • Maintain accurate records including testing documentation, site reports and progress updates.

  • Support procurement and subcontractor management, including RFIs, scope reviews and variation proposals.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and value engineering.

  • Mentor junior engineers and trainees on technical and site practices.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.

  • Proven experience working on civil construction or drainage projects.

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, specifications and site practices.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and test results.

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and safe systems of work.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors and site teams.

  • Experience with MS Project and other industry software is advantageous.

  • Current NZ Class 1 driver licence.

  • Legal right to work in New Zealand.
