An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified candidate to head the continued development of one of leading golf clubs in sunny Hawkes Bay.

The Club:

The Napier Golf Club, proudly named the Golf NZ 2023/24 Club of the Year, is celebrating its 130th year of operation. Our club, rich in history and deeply connected to the local Iwi of Waiohiki, still has some areas of recovery following significant damage caused by Cyclone Gabrielle in February 2023. Our membership has grown significantly post-recovery, with the Club currently sitting at 1030 members of all ages and skill levels actively enjoying our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

The applicant will play a key role in the delivery of the strategic, operational, and financial aspects of the club and demonstrate strong collaborative processes, positive interpersonal skills and be an effective communicator. A proven history of change management with a focus on simplification will go a long way to being successful. 

Key Attributes:

Candidates will demonstrate proven experience in a management capacity involving staff, contractors, budget setting, finance, marketing and change management with some of this experience having been in the sports industry.  

The successful applicant will hold a tertiary qualification or have proven learning experience which equates to a similar level of knowledge. If you are a strategic and independent thinker, who brings a fresh perspective and can develop and execute on a plan for the future of the club, then we would like to hear from you.
