Parent Support Worker

About the role

This is a full-time position based in Manurewa, Auckland, working for Iosis, a leading provider of community services and family support. As a Parent Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting families and promoting positive outcomes for children and young people.

What you'll be doing

1. Providing one-on-one support and mentoring to parents, with a focus on building parenting skills and promoting healthy family dynamics

2. Facilitating group parenting programmes and workshops to educate and empower families

3. Collaborating with other social services and agencies to coordinate holistic support for families in need

4. Maintaining accurate case notes and records to ensure high-quality service delivery

5. Contributing to the continuous improvement of the organisation's family support programmes

What we're looking for

1. Demonstrated experience in providing family support or parenting education.

2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with families

3. Demonstrated understanding of child development, family dynamics, and the challenges faced by vulnerable populations

4. Passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children, young people, and their families

5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
