Age Concern Waikato (ACW) is seeking an experienced and inspiring General Manager to lead our organisation and champion the wellbeing of older people across the Waikato.

About the Role
Based in Hamilton, as General Manager, you will report to the Board, and
Lead the delivery of high-quality, responsive services for older people
Build strong relationships with stakeholders, funders, and community partners
Champion innovation and continuous improvement across services
Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
Ensure the long-term sustainability and financial health of the organisation
Uphold strong governance, compliance, and accountability frameworks
Lead ACW’s commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, strengthening partnerships with Māori and embedding cultural confidence across the organisation
About You
An experienced leader who combines strategic and operational thinking, with commercial acumen, and empathy, you thrive in a community-focused environment and are motivated by making a real difference.
You will bring:
Proven senior leadership and management experience
Strong financial and business acumen, including budgeting and reporting
Experience working with Boards and an understanding of the difference between governance and management
Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
A track-record in securing funding and developing partnerships
A commitment to innovation and continuous improvement
Understanding of, or passion for, the issues affecting older people
A relevant tertiary qualification (desirable)
