Finance Manager
Connexa is New Zealand’s leading mobile tower infrastructure company, driven by a mission to enable a more connected digital future for Aotearoa New Zealand. We do this by designing, building and managing mobile sites across the country for telecommunications providers (like Spark and 2degrees) to expand their coverage efficiently and sustainably. Our tower portfolio of 2,500 covers Cape Reinga to Bluff and is the largest in New Zealand.
Kiwis’ mobile data use has increased dramatically in recent years and demand for mobile services continues to grow. The Connexa team is focused on ensuring Aotearoa is keeping up with this increasing demand, both today and into the future, by building an additional 800 towers over the next eight years to support the required growth in coverage and capacity.
As Finance Manager you will provide leadership to the finance team. The role is responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, commercial analysis, and strong financial governance to support the business in achieving its strategic and commercial objectives.
You will ensure robust accounting disciplines and accurate financial information, and insightful analysis to enable effective decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the financial control environment, including oversight of the full accounting cycle, accounts payable and receivable, and tax compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the finance function operates efficiently and delivers accurate, timely financial information to support the organisation.
- Prepare monthly management and board reports, including P&L, cash flow, balance sheet insights, and relevant financial and operational analysis.
- Provide clear interpretation of financial and non-financial information to support informed strategic decision-making.
- Assist with annual business planning process, including:
- Establishing and communicating planning assumptions
- Managing timelines and review cycles
- Supporting stakeholders throughout the planning process
- Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, providing variance analysis and recommendations to leadership.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data is well maintained.
- Identify and support improvements to financial systems, reporting processes, and data management practices.
- Maintain and strengthen internal control frameworks to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and risk management standards across the organisation.
- Manage the external financial audit process, coordinating the timely delivery of information and resolution of audit queries.
Requirements
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop finance professionals.
- CA/CPA Qualified
- Strong financial accounting expertise.
- Proven experience in management reporting, budgeting and business analysis
- Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance and risk management
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Excellent communication skills across written, verbal and presentation formats
- Fantastic communication skills in all formats, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- A creative approach to problem-solving
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders
